Car parks
We have two visitor’s Car Parks: one for cars (with disabled parking spaces) and one for cycles. Please do not park on the forecourt.
There is space for busses to park (for group visits). Please do not hesitate to contact us for more information concerning this.
Accessibility
La Maison du Fier and the exhibition carry the label Tourisme et Handicap. This does not apply to the footpath along the Nature Reserve. The footpath can sometimes be problematic for people with reduced mobility, especially in poor weather conditions. Please contact us before your visit if you are unsure.
A wheelchair is available for visitors to use.
Picknicks
The Maison du Fier giftshop sells drinks (organic and locally produced) and a small selection of food items.
There is a designated area with benches under the shade of green oak trees where you can rest or pause to eat.
Rubbish bins
« Leave behind only footprints, take home only photographs».
In order to keep litter to a minimum on the site, rubbish bins are not provided. Please come equipped with a bag to take your litter home to dispose of.
Toilets
Toilets at the Maison du Fier are for visitors’ use only. The nearest public toilets are situated in the village of Portes-en-Ré.
